The Debut
High-Velocity Storytelling: The Gatorade #TheDebut Tour

In the world of live-streamed sports, timing is everything. Awe-Full partnered with VML, Intersport, and Twitter to execute a high-octane content strategy for Gatorade’s #TheDebut—a live-streamed series of eight premier high school basketball games across the country. Featuring NBA legends like Baron Davis and Nate Robinson alongside host Rachel Demita, the event demanded a whirlwind production schedule that spanned the U.S. Our role was to act as the rapid-response creative hub, producing 19 unique pieces of video content—including promotional teasers, high-energy game recaps, and a special homecoming feature with Jabari Parker.

The technical challenge of #TheDebut was the "Halftime Spotlight"—a high-stakes post-production sprint that required us to scout locations, capture b-roll, conduct interviews, and deliver a polished segment in a matter of hours for that evening's live broadcast. Working in tandem with the elite crew at Hunt + Capture, we developed an agile workflow that often involved editing highlights and recaps in transit between cities. From overcoming sudden venue changes to pivoting when star talent became unavailable, our "mad fast" animation and editing skills ensured every delivery hit the buzzer. The result was a comprehensive visual package that bridged the gap between raw high school energy and professional broadcast standards.
