The Upfront Summit is never small, but the 2020 edition took visual scale to a literal stadium level. Staged at the historic Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, this landmark event gathered an unmatched roster of tech visionaries, elite investors, and cultural icons—including Steve Ballmer, JJ Abrams, Ice Cube, Paris Hilton, Chelsea Handler, Eva Longoria, Zoe Saldana, and Tyra Banks. Awe-Full stepped up to the massive challenge of designing and animating the summit’s entire motion graphics ecosystem, transforming one of America’s most iconic sports venues into a dynamic canvas for global ideas.

Navigating an open-air stadium environment required a specialized approach to visibility, composition, and pacing. We developed a cohesive, high-impact motion language that commanded attention across massive outdoor LED displays, ensuring the content felt premium and intentional even under natural daylight. The industry took note: our visual storytelling for the event earned a Gold ADDY Award from the KC Ad Club in 2021, followed by a second Gold at the Regional ADDY Awards. It stands as a definitive case study in Awe-Full’s ability to deliver award-winning, stadium-scale stage design under the highest stakes.
